RARE 1953 14" SWEET SUE COLLECTIBLE VINTAGE WALKER DOLL
This is such a sweet precious little girl. Made by the American Character Doll Company in 1953 she stands 14" tall and is a hard plastic doll. She is in wonderful condition and is a strung walker doll. Her stringing is tight and her walking mechanism works just fine. She has absolutely beautiful coloring as you can tell from her photos. On the back of her neck she is marked with "AC" which of course stand for American Character. She is wearing what appears to be her original dress but has replaced white panties and new socks and black vinyl shoes. Please note that her wig is much lighter in color then it's showing in the photos. It's actually a very, very light blond wig in a long style with two ponytails in the back. We feel that the dress must be original because of the style of snaps used on it. It is the older style and dark in color like we used in the 50's. All right, so I dated myself! She is one of the earliest of the Sweet Sue doll line that was made by AC. Many of the early Sweet Sue's were unmarked which sometimes leads to confusion whether they are an American Character Doll, Arranbee or a Madame Alexander doll. You see the same plastic mold was used on all three brands of dolls. Each manufacturer would dress the dolls and wig the dolls in their own fashion. Her little picnic basket is included with her.
